And now the really interesting part:
WHAT HAPPENED AT MY AUDITION:
WELL THE AUDITION WAS HELD IN BOSTON AT GILLET STADIUM, WHICH IS A
FOOTBALL STADIUM THAT CAN HOLD ABOUT 60,000 PEOPLE.
I GOT THERE AT 2:00 AT NIGHTI TOOK A TRAIN TO CANAL STREET WHICH IS IN CHINA TOWN IN NEW YORK CITY.
THEN I TOOK THE CHINA TOWN FUNG WAH BUS ALL THE WAY TO BOSTON AND THEN ANOTHER TWO TRAINS IN BOSTON AND THEN A BUS WHICH GOT ME TWO STREET WALKING DISTANCE TO A HOSTEL WHICH IS LIKE A CHEAP MOTEL FOR TRAVELERS. IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY NICEAND REALLY CHEAP ($20). THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY BEDS LEFT SINCE IT WAS 2 IN THE MORNING SO THEY GAVE ME A BIG QUEEN SIZED MATRESS AND I WAS SLEEPING IN THE LOUNGE ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR ALL BY MYSELF SO IT WAS LIKE I GOT A PRIVATE ROOM. THE NEXT DAY I WOKE UP AT FIVE IN THE MORNING AND TOOK ANOTHER BUS ANOTHER TWO TRAINS AND A CAB TO GET TO THE STADIUM. I GOT THERE AT 7:00 AM. IT WAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T HAVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ALL THE WAY TO THE STADIUMFOR THE AUDITION ON WEDNSDAY. IN THE END I GOT THERE! BUT WHEN I DID GET THERE I WAS AMAZED TO FIND A LINE OF ABOUT 10,000 PEOPLE IM NOT KIDDING, ALREADY WAITING TO GET IN, IN ORDER TO GET A NUMBER IN LINE BECAUSE THE ACTUAL AUDITION WAS A DAY LATER.
THESE PEOPLE WERE JUST STANDING IN LINE TO GET IN LINE FOR THE AUDITION WHICH WAS ON THE NEXT DAY!!! TO YOU GET WHAT IM SAYING HERE?!?!?
OH YA, I FORGOT TO TELL YOU ONE REALLY IMPORTANT DETAIL: IT STARTED TO RAIN!!! AND NO ONE HAD UMBRELLAS!!! AND WE STOOD IN LINE FROM 7 IN THE MORNING TILL 2 IN THE AFTERNOON!!! IN THE RAIN!!! DRIPPING WET!!! BUT NO ONE WOULD LEAVE OR GIVE UP OR GO HOME!!! PEOPLE WANTED TO GET INTO THIS AUDITION!!!
ANWAY I GOT A TICKET AND A NUMBER FOR THE AUDITION FOR THE NEXT DAY AND I WENT BACK TO THE MOTEL TO SLEEP. I GOT UP THE NEXT DAY AT 4 AM IN ORDER TO GET TO THE AUDITION NO LATER THAN 6 AM- THAT’S WHAT THE PROUDUCERS TOLD EVERYBODY!!!
WHEN I GOT THERE WE COULD ALL SIT INSIDE THE STADIUM- BUT THE CATH IS THAT IT WAS AN OPEN STADIUM AND THERE WERE NOW 25,000- PEOPLE ALL SITTING THERE WAITING FOR THERE AUDITION IN THE RAIN!!!!! WITH RAINCOATS AND UMBRELLAS THIS TIME BUT STILL IN THE RAIN. ANYWAY THEY HAD US SING THE SONG “SINGIING IN THE RAIN” FOR THE COMMERCIAL ON TELEVISION SO THEY COULD SHOW HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE CAME OUT TO AUDITION FOR THEIR SHOW IN THE RAIN AND AFTER THAT THEY STARTED TO BRING PEOPLE DOWN TO THE STADIUM SO THEY COULD AUDITION- ONCE AGAIN- IN THE RAIN!!!
SO THERE WERE 14 TABLES IN THE FIELD AND EACH TABLE HAD TWO JUDGES AND THEY SENT 8 PEOPLE TO EACH TABLE TO AUDITION SO IN QUICK MATH THAT IS 112 PEOPLE AUDITIONING AT THE SAME TIME INSIDE A HUG FOOTBALL FIELD WHEN 24,00O OTHER PEOPLE ARE WATCHING.
SOUND GREAT RIGHT.
AT AROUND 3 PM, AFTER WAITNG FOR MY GROUPS TURN SINCE 6 AM IT WAS FINALLY MY TURN!!! I WAS SO EXCITED. MY HEART WAS RACING MAYBE 90 MILES PER HOUR. THIS MY BIG MOMENT! TO FINALLY AUDITION BEFORE BIG HOLLYWOOD PRODUCERS.
MY TURN WAS UP. THEY HAD US LINE UP IN FRONT OF THEIR TABLES, FOUR AT A TIME.
“OK, YOU! WHATS YOUR NAME?” “MY NAME IS SIVAN “ I REPLEID “THAT’S A BEAUTIFUL NAME. OK SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SING FOR US?” “WELL” I SAID WITH PRIDE “MORE THAN WORDS BY EXTREME” “OK GO AHEAD” AND I DID… “SAYING I LOVE YOU IS NOT THE WORDS I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU” I FELT LIKE DIANA ROSS, I FELT LIKE TRACY CHAPMAN, I FELT LIKE TORRI AMOS, I FELT LIKE THE WIND… “ITS NOT THAT I WANT YOU NOT TO SAY BUT IF YOU ONLY KNEW HOW EASY IT WOULD BE TO SHOW ME HOW YOU FEEEEE----“ WHAT HAPPENED?… “OK THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH BUT THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR IS VERY TOUGH SO PLEASE EXIT THE STADIUM TO YOUR LEFT. THANX”
AND THAT WAS IT MY TEN SECONDS WERE UP. AND I DIDN’T MAKE . ALL MY HARD WORK AND EFFORT FOR A MEASLY TEN SECONDS?!?!!?!
JUST THEN A WARM AND CALM FEELING CAME OVER ME. I FELT GOOD. I FELT PROUD OF MYSELF THAT I MANAGED TO GET ALL THIS WAY JUST SO I COULD HAVE THESE TEN SECONDS.
A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP MUCH BEFORE.
A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULDN’T HAVE EVEN LEFT THERE COZEY HOUSE FOR A CHANCE LIKE THIS.
BUT I DID AND I WENT ALL THE WAY. SO I DIDN’T GET IN. THE CHANCES WERE ALMOSE ONE IN A MILLLION.
BUT YOU CAN'T WIN THE LOTTERY IF YOU DONT BUY THE TICKET!!!!
AND IF YOUR ASKING YOURSELF WHAT ALL THIS WAS FOR- IT WAS AN AUDITION FOR AMERICAN IDOL AND YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT IM GONNA DO IT ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL
